  • The Mighty Boosh- too much Rock 'n' Roll, not enough comedy?

OK. Let's get one thing straight. I am NOT Boosh-bashing here. I bloody love them, but.... I've been thinking. Yeah, i know, thinking's a dangerous thing i don't do it often.

At the moment I can't help thinking that the Boosh are going off the point a bit. i mean, everywhere i read (NME) it's :
Noel's been talking to Alice Cooper and they're going to write an acid - goth musical together.
    OR
Noel's been getting tips off U2 and the Edge about performing etc for the Boosh band / Festival.
    OR even
Noel's been talking to Ronnie Wood about doing a new version of 'Where the Wild Things are' for the Boosh Book (even though Ronnie's in Rehab at the moment).

Really, it's got nothing to do with me, but what happened to the comedy? Deep down, you can tell Noel's always wanted to be a rockstar, so they're persuing the Boosh-Band thing, and now they're more famous and it's cool to be a Booshie all of a sudden (it's not just wierdos like me quoting lines at inappropriate moments and singing wierd little songs no-one's ever heard of) Noel's hanging around with all these celebrities etc.
Don't get me wrong, of course he can have friends, and it's fine to go off and do new things.

Sometimes i really do think though it's all gone to Noel's head, and sooner or later he's just going to forget about being funny all together, and persue just 'being a rockstar'.

He's already there really- always all over the tabloids, taking cocaine and apparently he had a breakdown? Sooner or later he'll be living on an island with a small indian boy...(sorry, i had to get that in). It's not like i know him personally or anything, so i'm probably totally wrong, i just get that impression. Julian, on the other hand, is being very sensible and staying out of the limelight.

I already know how much of a hippocrite i'll be when i automatically go out and buy the album, the book, and the festival dvd, even though it's more about the boosh being rockstars and nothing to do with comedy, but i'm still kind of annoyed about this.

The Mighty Boosh do deserve their success- the show is genius........just, keep writing the comedy guys, it's why we fell in love with you in the first place.

  • Cake!

I love cake at the best of times, and anyone who doesn't must have a very unhappy life.

But this is why i love my best friend.

She made me a cake for my birthday! but not just any cake, oh, no...............

A MIGHTY BOOSH CAKE! All by herself! For me!

    Have a picture....

Apart from this I had quite an unexciting birthday, because i'm having a party after i get my gcse results - i don't want to celebrate too early in case they're shit...... U-(

I didn't ask for presents because i can never be arsed with them really, but my parents just insisted on giving me money. That actually might have been a good thing, because i currently have none and very quickly need to get a job......and my friends made me a photo album with loads of embarassing pictures of me in (most from when i hade a HIDEOUS middle parting and no layers) and to be honest i didn't realise they had that many pictures of me frowning, with my eyes closed, pulling faces etc! They can't have many where i actually look normal.......but right now, i don't care, i have my boosh cake! yay!

  • Prom!...a 3rd time....

I haven't posted for a while I'm too lazy. My life has been boring since I finished school.

The best thing that's happened was prom, wich came and went and it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. I also finally got a dress! and it was one that didn't make me look ridiculous, which is always a bonus. I actually had a good time, despite the creepy teachers and no alcohol (they were threatening to throw us out if they thought we had any. On the brightside someone managed to get some vodka and coke which we all passed round so it wasn't too bad.
We had a meal and everyone inhaled the helium out of the balloons which was a laugh, and looking at them now i've just realised i look naked on most of my pictures because they're only of my head and shoulders mostly and my dress had no straps!

We had a dance afterwards and that was also really fun, even if they played some embarassing things like 'Barbie Girl' etc, i reckon i would have danced to anything! They also made up for it with some proper music as well. The teachers did us proud too and got totally sloshed so by the end of the night they were trying to dance with us, which freaked me out slightly, seen as most of my teachers are old and creepy.

The only thing that annoyed me slightly was we couldn't go out afterwards because we had to go into school for sixth form induction the next day....... i could hardly speak to anyone that morning... let alone choose my a-level options....
