Ok. Well as i'm sure any self-respecting Boosh fan will know Noel and Julian have signed a deal with BBC films (or something like that) to make a Mighty Boosh Film.
I'm VERY excited about this.
YAY!
If it's good i reckon my life may be complete.....
Anyway, after my brother broke this wonderful news to me about a month ago, I thought I'd better blog about it and see what everyone else thinks. I doubt I'll know much more than the rest of you (i'll probably know less), but here goes.
As far as i'm aware the whole thing's a bit mysterious, but i suppose it's early days so what do i expect?!
Apparently, there's all sorts of people that they want to be in it, despite the boosh being adament that they don't want any 'pointless celebrities' in it: they have to be 'icons', and they have to be cleverly 'written into the script'. As far as i know, Noel wants Mick Jagger to be in it as well as Gary Numan (that'd be consistent with series 3 if he's shut in a cupboard!). Apparently Steve Coogan may also be in it seen as he's wanted to be in it for a while and hasn't he produced it or something in the past? I reckon even though some people have told me that all these celebrities will ruin it, i really can't decide whteher they're right or not, because part of me thinks that these type of people have always been part of the show- i mean, in series 1 they even put in that Brian Ferry brought Vince up in a forest, even if Brian Ferry was just Julian with two chins and a wierd hairstyle! And all sorts have people have been in it already!
This sounds like a lot to get excited about but there's one major drawback. Obviously, they've got the tour to do at the end of this year (which is brilliant too -even if i don't get to see them) and so they reckon they'll start work on the film after that.
So......... effectively, this means we may have to wait a loooooooooooooong time before we actually get to see it. I've heard that we're likely to be able to go and see it at the end of next year!
I don't know if i can wait that long!
People seem to be criticizing it a lot at the moment, because they think the film will be crap. I think if it was i wouldn't care, because i seem to be so deluded now that whatever they do i will like it.
The only thing that properly bothers me about the film is that the boosh might try and change to appeal to an american audience. This probably isn't likely, but seen as films are normally released in America first, then they might have to. This would be such a shame, because (no offence to any american booshers) i'm sure everyone will agree that would completely ruin it.
Anyway I hope i'm not the only one overly excited about all this booshy action, and if you have any more information then comment because after writing this i'm now more confused than i have ever been about it! Sorry if i've confused you too- this probably doesn't make any sense, i've been trying to write this at 1.42 am while listenening to RiD ( i don't multi-task very well).
Wow. That was a long post!
x
I'm just as excited as you!

i agree with what your saying, that some celebrities have always been part of the show. Mick Jagger and Gary Newman are icons so i think it would be good if they were part of it. Others im not not so sure about but we'll see
I cant imagine Steve Coogan in it somehow
and yeah he runs baby cow productions, and was really the person who put the boosh on tv in the first place. god bless him
hopefully because the film would be a british production, and the boosh isnt as well known in America, it would most likely be released here first. Fingers crossed!
